A few Halloween cards for my kiddos

Happy Halloween to you all! I created all these cards one afternoon for my kiddos. I had picked up fun Halloween socks for my son and all our nieces and our nephew, so I of course had to make fun cards to go along with them! I love the techniques I used for the cards.  This is the first time I have used the soot card technique, and I just love when I get a chance to pull my alcohol inks out and color a stamp in. I don't know about you but coloring tends to relax me, and brings me back to feeling like a kid again, and there is nothing more beautiful than the look of alcohol ink. I hope this inspires you to make a fun Halloween card or layout of your own! As always your comments are appreciated, I love to hear what you think.
Soot technique how to: Using glossy card-stock slowly pass the glossy side through the middle of a candle flame. Pass back and forth until the whole card is black. I chose to also burn the edges to create a free form look. Then simply place a clean stamp into the soot, and the soot will lift revealing a grey/white image in its place. After the image has been "stamped" spray the whole sheet of paper with clear lacquer to seal the soot. Try it out,I bet you will love it. Just make sure to pass through the middle of the flame not the end of the flame where the heat is highest.

  1. Awwww...for as much as I HATE Halloween, these cards are so cute. I like the soot technique. Did you spray it with something to keep it from dropping soot everywhere?
